Quantum physics: The views of reality

Writer's picture: kyle Haileykyle Hailey

The double-slit experiment demonstrates the wave-particle duality of light and matter. In the experiment, particles like electrons or photons are fired at a barrier with two slits. If observed, the particles behave like solid objects, passing through one slit and forming two distinct patterns on a screen. However, when unobserved, they behave like waves, passing through both slits simultaneously and creating an interference pattern.

This experiment is important because it challenges classical physics, revealing that particles can exhibit both wave-like and particle-like behavior depending on observation, which is a fundamental concept in quantum mechanics. It raises profound questions about the nature of reality, measurement, and the role of the observer.

Here is a great one on the double slit experiment :

If you like that one, check this one out after watching the last one:

Another good one:

The first half of this video is a great example and explanation that it’s our conscious awareness that change a photo wave to a particle and not just the observing equipment
